A Chef, a Sommelier and a Long Table Lunch in a Private Villa

A Chef, a Sommelier and a Long Table Lunch in a Private Villa – Sunday June 29

$260.00 incl GST

“Permission to Trespass” – For the third year in a row, a very popular former chef is being lured back to serve one of his legendary degustation lunches, paired with fine Tasmanian wines, in the dining room of Table House, a beautiful clifftop villa overlooking Bass Strait.

“An extraordinary afternoon in a perfect setting, filled with a world class degustation and perfectly matched wines – a wonderful catalyst for guests to engage with each other! … We cannot thank you enough for this amazing experience.”

“What a fabulous way to spend the day.”

“Perfect quantities, variety, matching wines and organisation…. But most of all sharing it with such delightful guests.”

“A most delightful event in so many ways.”

“The long lunch was totally faultless. …..I talked to some really interesting people.”

“What an absolute triumph… glorious lunch in elegant surrounds and such a cacophony of chatter it would drown the sound of a mass choir.”

“Thanks for opening your doors to the rowdy crowd who came to lunch and stayed!”

Joseph Bugg, arguably the most popular chef in NW Tasmania until he changed careers a few years ago, was enticed back into the kitchen for the inaugural event at Table House in 2023.

The previous long table lunches have been such vibrant, sparkling, convivial affairs, and the food and wines so outstanding that our guests demand more. It’s now an annual fixture in the “Permission to Trespass” series of events around Wynyard and Table Cape in NW Tasmania during Tasmania’s Off Season.

Internationally qualified and thoroughly engaging sommelier Devon Cruickshank, an integral team member, will again pair a fabulous selection of fine Tasmanian wines to complement Joseph’s fine food. Devon has worked in vineyards overseas and in Tasmania. Her knowledge of wines and how they are made is exemplary.

Table House is a unique private villa that sits majestically on a clifftop with sweeping views of beautiful farmlands and Bass Strait. Whether there be sparkling seas or wild winter storms, the views from this dining room never disappoint.

Come and enjoy a long, lazy Sunday afternoon. But get in early. There’s sure to be a bunch of devoted returnees keen to savour Joseph’s epicurean delights once again.
